Job Description
A Commercial Finance Analyst role at Congo Brands involves but is not limited to overseeing the planning and validation of Gross to Net Spend and pricing, ensuring compliance with the company’s strategies. Responsibilities include ensuring data accuracy for pricing and promotional spend, tracking adherence to strategies and guidelines across channels, participating in the monthly accounting close, periodic financial reporting, and supporting the development of analytical tools such as customer profitability analysis. This position requires collaboration across various departments, including Sales and Finance in the UK and at EMEA level, in order to optimize profitability and ensure data accuracy.
Location
The role is based in the UK and does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and the right to travel to EU and Switzerland with preference for candidates based in the northern part of the UK.
Work will be remote with occasional travel to Leeds and company headquarters in Switzerland.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management (40%): Maintain the data accuracy for Gross to Net spend, ensuring that entries and forecasts reflect current promotional activities.
- Gross to Net Management (30%): Oversee the management of promotional activities and pricing across different channels, ensuring alignment with company policies and fiscal guidelines. Analyst will review promotions, prices and deals to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and financial targets.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis (20%): Prepare and analyse reports on customer profitability, track promotional spending, and provide insights into the return on investment for promotional activities. This may include month-end financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Process Improvement (10%): Identify areas for process improvement in trade fund operations and work towards automating and optimizing workflows in cooperation with the central EMEA team.
Key Skills & Experience Requirements
- Education: A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Typically requires 1-2 years of experience in pricing, commercial finance, financial analysis, or a related role within an FMCG company.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data, proficiency with excel, familiarity with financial software, and excellent communication abilities to collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
