About Candidate
I am a data analyst by trade based in Singapore before my recent temporary relocation to the UK (dependent visa, share code can be provided for your easy verification if needed).
My latest tenure in Singapore LNG Corp. as the frontend and backend IT application support analyst require me to always uphold on-time ticket log and resolution that allows me to strengthen my stakeholder management skill set, in which I also help to resolve data gaps and develop data analysis projects that deliver BI dashboards. I took on the role of the BI POC of the IT team as well due to my interest in DevOps.
In HistoIndex, I also learnt Matlab from scratch and was awarded the opportunity to be one of the authors of a Journal of Hepatology abstract where we showcase the validation result of our AI-aid tool for pathologists’ liver diagnosis, hence I am also well-versed in both programming and analytical tasks.
I have a strong understanding of the importance of not only extracting insights from complex, messy data but also presenting those insights effectively to executive stakeholders. E.g., I collaborated with a Senior Manager of the Sustainability department in SLNG to resolve the challenge of compiling data from different business group representatives for both corporate sustainability reporting. During the requirements gathering sessions, various technical solutions were brainstormed together to achieve the desired data flow from each business group to the outcome, which ultimately is an organisation-wide KPI metrics PowerBI dashboard. The main challenge during those sessions was to translate the insights gathered from the backend into a format relatable to each group of stakeholders. One of the crucial requirements was to build a data pipeline from a web application to our SQL Server via an API so I built a simple Python script that uses subprocess to call curl for fetching data from the API, then automated it using a Windows batch script to pull readings entered by the web app frontend user into our database. Time-sensitive automations were also required to achieve unique business requirements so I also initiated the experiment of automating email reminders to data owners who failed to update data within a certain frame using Python scripts and that resulted in improved data flow and less data gaps in end reports. Hence, I am confident I can ramp up swiftly if given the opportunity. In fact, I imagine BI plays an important role in this sphere.
In summary, my technical kit includes SQL, Python, MATLAB and SPSS for statistical data analysis, Power BI and Tableau for BI, and others such as Postman (for API integration testing), SAP CPI, JS, HTML, CSS, Git Bash, and GitHub. I also work with MS Excel often, with it I create automation scripts (i.e., using VBS, VBA, Powershell, Python) to resolve users’ routine tasks. I could bring to your team —a strong foundation in executive reporting, data storytelling, and IT application debug/fix development, UAT and deployment, as well as end-to-end pipeline development (ETL, ELT) and automation.

Work & Experience
Permanent. Reason of leaving: due to relocation (dependent visa) ⦁ Designed and built data pipelines in SQL Server by applying ETL/ELT methodologies, facilitating data flow from APIs or local directories into SQL Server (via SSMS, SSIS) and then into Power BI dash. ⦁ Deployed dashboards and conducted A/B testing and UAT as well as design technical documentation for effective knowledge transfer. ⦁ Developed necessary database structures to perform REST API calls and test using Postman, managing Salesforce SAP CPI integration with non-SAP applications. ⦁ I am passionate about workflow automation. Used tools such Python, VBA, and PowerShell often to develop solutions to resolve manual tasks (e.g. API curl py scripts, daily snapshots of db data for frontend users, daily manual excel import to our data warehouse, automated SMTP email reminders). ⦁ Facilitated 24/7 multiple IT application support on one of the critical applications that maintains Singapore's national energy security. ⦁ Gathered requirements and collaborated with both internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation in FP&A and Commercial business groups, troubleshoot and resolve consolidation financial models and most importantly, implement preventive measures. Note: Currently building my portfolio (i.e., Web Analytics Dashboard) and foundation in Git version control, JS, HTML, CSS, DBT. I am pursuing Google Analytics certification.
Permanent. Reason of leaving: due to my interest in securing a role that is more SQL-focused. ⦁ Started as a Junior Data Analyst, under the mentorship of Software Analyst, Yayun, at that time, I was able to pick up Matlab programming from scratch to build, train and test prediction models using ML algorithms to prove customer's pharmaceutical medicine efficacy, which require the understanding of feature detection, logistic and linear regression analysis. ⦁ Developed statistical data reports, mainly p-value significance testing. ⦁ Developed the server requirements to configure a cloud server (Alicloud) that hosts a pathologist-viewing software needed for a pilot study, managed the study’s technical alignment with vendors and cloud engineers in fulfilling the study requirements. Led the recovery efforts from one critical malware attack on the cloud server. ⦁ Generated statistical reports using retrospective data from clinical trials that assisted external stakeholders in publishing more significant papers to prove the efficacy of their pharmaceutical medicine. ⦁ Awarded the opportunity to be listed as one of the authors of a poster presentation and published abstract in Journal of Hepatology (https://doi.org/10.1016/S0168-8278(22)01197-7)
