The Role
In response to the impending changes to the safeguarding regime that e-money firms are subject to in the UK, and the firm’s international expansion, Vitesse is creating a new role to centralize the coordination of all safeguarding-related activity. The new structure will help achieve operational compliance with the new UK CASS standards and remain compliant on an ongoing basis.
The Safeguarding Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the VP Risk in the oversight and execution of the firm’s safeguarding frameworks, working cross-functionally and across Vitesse’s regulated entities to ensure compliance with the firm’s safeguarding obligations and the proper protection of client funds.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain the firm’s Safeguarding Policies.
- Maintain the firm’s safeguarding and flow of funds operating models
- Maintain the firm’s wind-down plan(s) and Resolution Pack(s) for the group.
- Support the assessment of changes to applicable regulations on the firm’s safeguarding framework and coordinate required change initiatives.
- Engage with Product and change initiatives to understand the impact on the firm’s safeguarding framework.
- Work with safeguarding control owners to ensure appropriate assessment of control adequacy in line with the firm’s risk management framework.
- Coordinate the firm’s safeguarding / CASS audits and support management of the audit relationship.
- Act as a secretary for the Safeguarding Committee, coordinating inputs from all stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement across the firm, identify and act on opportunities to ensure Vitesse demonstrates a best-in-class approach to safeguarding.
Requirements
The right person for the role can come from a range of backgrounds and does not have to have direct experience in all areas of responsibility. They need to be able to demonstrate an aptitude to pick up all relevant areas, a high work ethic, and an eagerness to learn.
Relevant work experience:
- 2-5 years working within Financial Services Business consulting, or a related regulated industry enabling the candidate to demonstrate relevant skills and experience. Example roles may include:
o Management Consultant
o Business Analyst
o Project Manager/change roles
o Risk Analyst
o Treasury Management
Qualifications and education level:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
We will consider exceptional candidates with experience, skills, and/or qualifications that fall outside of these criteria where they demonstrate the necessary skills and potential to learn quickly in the role.
Relevant Skills:
- Ability to understand and analyze business processes and assess strengths and weaknesses;
- Strong document writing skills, including policy, procedures, presentations, and operating flows.
- Experience managing projects and/or driving initiatives cross-functionally across an organization.
- Highly analytical – keen to challenge and understand root causes;
- Strong communication (oral and written)
- Ability to handle and analyze data;
- Organized, diligent with strong attention to detail;
- Desire to learn;
- Able to work well with a team and the wider business; and
- A positive outlook and a continuous improvement mentality.
