The purpose of the Data Analyst role is to deliver timely, insightful, and actionable analysis that supports our clients’ objectives. This role assists in the preparation and interrogation of clients’ data to help deliver solutions that meet the project’s agreed objectives. The provision of accurate analysis is paramount within this role, and therefore, the focus is on developing a deep understanding of our clients’ customer data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Creation of ad-hoc analysis for clients, agreeing on project objectives, scope and delivering customer trends and detailing key recommendations
· Identifying and advising on actionable recommendations based on key findings from analysis
· Create dashboards to answer key client questions within Power BI
· With the assistance of senior analysts, creating predictive models utilising methods such as Logistic Regression, CHAID and Clustering techniques
· Answering quick questions using data to help guide business decisions
· Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
· Peer review of colleague’s work, before delivery to clients
· Mentoring new starters
Requirements
· Advanced Excel skills
· Experience working with Retail or Customer data in a commercial setting
· Experience with coding languages, SQL or Python is preferred
· Experience with visualisation software
· Exposure to technical software, Databricks, Big Query or SQL Server preferred
· Data manipulation: experience in analysing large volumes of data and a solid understanding of database principles and efficiencies are desirable. Ideally, in SQL Server or Databricks.
· Basic statistics: familiarity with averages, deviations, correlation and regression is required
· A quality-first approach to work, with a strong attention to detail.
· Excellent written communication: creating clear, concise and actionable materials for the client.
· Confident oral communication: can explain complex analytical work in a logical way which can be understood by a non-analytical audience.
· Capable of planning and managing own time to ensure timely delivery of projects
