Job Description

Aon is recruiting a Business Systems Analyst to join our UK Business Systems team. The Business Systems Analyst will be primarily responsible for:

  • Working with the Business Systems Manager and local leadership teams to ensure all business change activities are embedded in a timely, efficient way resulting in BAU working practices
  • Ensuring operational initiatives and best practices are uniformly implemented across the business
  • Working within the Business Systems team, the Business Systems Analyst will serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT teams, to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
  • Ensuring Aon UK business operations and policies comply with internal and external regulatory requirements and treating customers fairly is at the heart of operational practices

About the Role

 Your impact and key responsibilities as a Business Systems Analyst:

  • Be a technical expert on Acturis and help the team deliver Acturis system enhancements.
  • Champion for our technology and capabilities.
  • Development and administration of core Business systems
  • Supporting the effective use of data and analytics
  • Support service releases
  • Designing/proposing/implementing technical solutions in response to detailed requirements
  • Ad hoc analysis
  • Development of MI to support business processes
  • Proactively proposing technical solutions to improve operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will:

  • Facilitate design and development of software solutions.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders, to understand system development requirements
  • Complete User Acceptance testing processes for new functionality including documentation, training, issue management, etc.
  • Actively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Develop Power BI reports/dashboards providing insights to improve decision-making.
  • Provide support to the operational servicing across Aon
  • Input into the development, gaining agreement to, and direct the uniform implementation of robust, compliant, operational plans, practices and processes
  • Support and where appropriate lead business operational change programmes across Commercial Risk & Health and work with business leaders to ensure timely implementation with no adverse business impact
  • Support and where appropriate provide direction to on and offshore teams supporting the business
  • Ensure the operational aspects of client requirements are fully met and treating customers fairly is embedded into day to day working practices
  • Analyse working practices, trends, reports and make recommendations to senior management
  • Be responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

Your knowledge and expertise:

  • Acturis experience working in a business change environment
  • An aptitude for applying technology and structured problem solving
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to solve challenging technical problems using a structured and logical approach
  • A track record of delivering on projects and an ability to carry tasks through to completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate well across organisational levels
  • Self-disciplined and organised
  • Power BI (or similar) development and administration preferable.
  • Capable of building and maintaining relationships across the organisation
  • Commercial understanding of business i.e. market forces, business drivers etc.
