Yellow Card Financial is a Financial Technology (FinTech) startup focused on building a new financial infrastructure for the African continent. Yellow Card is lowering barriers, removing fees and providing greater access to financial services. Together, we are building products and services that fulfill our mission of “financial inclusion for all”.  Yellow Card is looking to hire a Backend Software Engineer to join the team.

Requirements:

  • +3 years of work experience as a Backend Engineer/Developer
  • Experience working in AWS or other similar cloud architecture (Google Cloud/Azure)
  • Experience with Node.js, possessing a broad knowledge of JavaScript in general and Node.js internals
  • Experience in Serverless Framework
  • Event-driven microservice experience
  • Basic understanding of the blockchain technology will be advantageous

  • Work with a group of engineers and cross-functional team members in the implementation of new and existing features
  • Provide clear and concise communication regarding feature development statuses to the team and stakeholders
  • Adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, and design best practices
  • Ensure quality by performing thorough testing and leveraging peer reviews for your work and the work of cross functional teams
  • Embrace and demonstrate our values: humility, creativity, and independence
  • Write and maintain clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for the future (and present) of the company’s platform
