Job Description

We are hiring at Aspire Software for an Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance team in Montreal. The successful Accounting Analyst will support the finance department by performing a variety of accounting and finance tasks to support accurate financial reporting and analysis, as well as assisting with preparing financial reports and analyzing financial data.

The successful candidate will be based anywhere within commutable distance of our office in Montreal, working in a hybrid work model!

What your day will look like:

General Accounting:

  • Issue invoices accurately and promptly
  • Process payments and maintain reconciliation of accounts
  • Following up on overdue payments and monitoring collections
  • Review and process vendor invoices for payment
  • Maintain AP records and reconcile statements

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of the financial statements
  • Ensure that all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and relevant regulations.
  •  Month-end entries and allocations: Includes GL reconciliations and monthly journal entry bookings
  •  Financial reconciliations: Finalize monthly entries, reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts
  • Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks, enabling management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance

Additional Tasks:

  • Assist and support in the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirements
  • Tax/Annual filing
  • Assist senior analysts and controllers in preparing financial forecasts and budgets
  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the controller

About You:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a similar discipline is essential
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in an accounting role
  • Working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite ERP (or similar), QuickBooks is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Ability to visualize efficient processes and implement them
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fast learner and adaptable – time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English is essential
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
