Introduction to the role
In partnership with our client, we are seeking a Treasury Operations Analyst to serve as a critical guardian of financial integrity in a fast-growing fintech startup building a smart wealth management platform. You will be a pivotal operational partner sitting at the intersection of payments, treasury, and risk ensuring that transaction flows, settlements, and balances across multiple systems are accurate, reconciled, and auditable. If you are a numbers-driven professional with an eagle eye for detail and a passion for safeguarding company funds through end-to-end visibility and continuous process improvement, we want to meet you.
Who are we looking for?
You are an accounting specialist with a solid foundation in financial principles, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, and a passion for high-volume transaction management and payments operations.
You are a detail obsessive with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills, someone who naturally spots discrepancies early and won’t rest until every account reconciles perfectly.
You are a master of tools, particularly Excel and Google Sheets, and you are comfortable navigating various financial systems, payment processors, and banking platforms.
You are process-oriented, with an innate understanding of payment flows and settlement cycles, bank and processor reconciliations, transaction-level controls, and the importance of compliance in a fintech environment.
You are a clear communicator, capable of flagging issues effectively and working across teams (engineering, product, customer operations) to resolve financial and transaction-related hurdles.
You are curious about process improvement and automation, always looking for opportunities to reduce manual effort and strengthen operational resilience.
Your Responsibilities…
Reconciliation & Account Management
You will perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts, payment processors, wallets and settlement accounts, and internal transaction ledgers.
You will monitor end-to-end payment flows, settlements, and clearing cycles to ensure all incoming and outgoing funds are accounted for and settled accurately.
You will identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks, settlement delays, and discrepancies.
You will maintain accurate cash position and settlement reports, maintaining clear audit trails, documentation, and controls.
You will manage withdrawal requests from both partners and customers, ensuring they are verified and executed within service-level agreements.
Treasury & FX Operations
You will support treasury operations, including monitoring balances and liquidity across accounts to ensure the business can always meet its immediate financial obligations.
You will assist in managing investment assets, including handling foreign exchange (FX) movements, specifically between USD and GHS/NGN.
You will liaise with banks, payment service providers, and partners to address settlement or reconciliation challenges.
You will support month-end close activities related to payments and treasury.
Risk Management & Compliance
You will maintain rigorous internal controls to safeguard company resources and prevent fraud.
You will assist in strengthening risk management, controls, and operational resilience.
You will work closely with the compliance team and engineering, product, and customer operations teams to ensure all treasury and payment activities meet regulatory standards.
You will identify and flag any potential financial risks or anomalies in transaction data to leadership immediately.
Process Improvement
You will identify opportunities to automate reconciliation processes and reduce manual effort, improving operational efficiency.
You will streamline the treasury reporting process using Excel or other tools to reduce manual entry time.
What Success looks like…
