Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to and working closely with the  Group Financial Controller, where your main areas of focus would be maintaining the SaaS management system and all related reporting. There will be benchmarking of various operating costs and preparing common-size P&Ls.

  • SaaS Management: Working in the SaaS management tool to maintain, update ads, and remove licenses. Work with the SaaS owners to prepare renewal packs. Extract and manipulate data from the platform to draw out key insights. Working with IS Admin to ensure all employees’ emails are in sync.
  • Posting and expensing/amortizing of SaaS costs: working with the AP clerk and financial accountant to ensure that prepaid SaaS costs are correctly recorded and amortized according to usage.
  • SaaS cost management and budgeting: Analyzing the cost on a monthly basis identifying cost drivers and building this into the annual budget and forecast.
  • Operating cost review: decomposing the entire indirect cost base (excluding workforce planning) to facilitate actual to-budget variance analysis. This will form the basis for bottom-up budgeting with the department owners.
  • Benchmarking of costs: Using common-sized P&L and market information to perform cost comparisons across the group.
  • Monthly reporting: Preparing monthly reporting packs at the department level for actual vs budget analysis.
  • GL management: Ensuring that departmental reporting is up to date and that costs are correctly allocated.
  • Work Independently: as the role is based in Lagos, the individual will report to the Group Financial Controller (based in Cape Town) with the dotted line reporting to local Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of accounting and or finance
  • 1-3 years of Financial Services or regulated business.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Familiar with IFRS
  • Working with teams across various geographic jurisdictions
  • Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of the SaaS landscape would be advantageous
